Celebrate No Mow May

May, 2023

Did you know that gas-powered lawn and garden equipment puts an estimated 20 million tons of carbon dioxide each year?

Though yards can serve as “carbon sinks,” soaking up carbon dioxide in our atmosphere, this benefit is often outweighed by the heavy carbon costs associated with lawn maintenance.

Save carbon emissions and time by letting your mower rest for the month of May. If not mowing for the whole month is more than you can do right now, consider mowing less frequently, or partially, or even converting some turf grass to a more wildlife friendly habitat like native plants.
